Football

The CommBank Matildas will return to Australia this June, playing a two-game series against Mexico in New South Wales.

Marking the team’s first appearance on home soil since the sold-out final of the AFC Women’s Asian Cup in March, the CommBank Matildas will kick off the series at McDonald Jones Stadium in Newcastle on Saturday, 6 June, before travelling to Sydney for game two at CommBank Stadium on Tuesday, 9 June.

The two-match series will provide fans across New South Wales with the opportunity to see the national team take on a world-class opponent on home soil, inviting supporters to be part of the team’s ongoing journey towards the FIFA Women’s World Cup™ 2027.

Australia has a strong history against Mexico, recording nine wins from ten previous international meetings. The two sides last met in 2024 in San Antonio, where the CommBank Matildas secured a 2–0 victory.
